December 2018 Newsletter

Happy New Year!

We are pleased to provide you with the first-ever monthly e-newsletter from the Historic Stanley Home Foundation. The mission to save Mr. Stanley’s home from the eventual loss of its historic value begins its final phase in 2019.

The Board of Directors, Community Advisory Group, members of The First 500 supporters, and all others who value historic preservation in Estes Park will be working earnestly throughout 2019 to secure the funds to purchase the home and protect it permanently. We have only one chance...right now!

This mission has been, and will continue to be, a grassroots effort. To save this home, and the 4.4 acre site that has endured safely since 1904, will require strong community-wide participation to allow for this project to be successful.

All ingredients are in place to encourage individuals, businesses, foundations, and other stakeholders to come together for this to happen. The Town of Estes Park gave unanimous approval of our operating plan in August 2018. Many conditions that were beneficial to both the Foundation and to neighboring property owners were identified.

We hope you share in our mission to save this important piece of Estes Park history and will become involved and remain in touch with our progress. We will continue to provide members of the community with updated information through our website, Facebook, local newspapers, and through other materials we develop as this project progresses.

Our 2019 campaign brochure is now completed, and you may have received a copy by mail recently. If you did not and would like to receive a copy of the brochure, please contact the Historic Stanley Home Foundation at stanleyhistorichome@gmail.com or phone us at (970) 415-0139. For more information, visit our website at www.stanleyhome.org.

We are always looking for excited and motivated people to join our team! If you would like to become involved and help bring this dream to fruition, contact Tom Shamburg, President/CEO at stanleyhistorichome@gmail.com.

All of us at the Foundation want to wish you a Happy New Year, and we look forward to purchasing the home of F.O. and Flora Stanley later in 2019.
